Solid Waste and Convenience Decal Program

Effective January 1, 2024, access to Sampson County’s solid waste convenience sites will require a convenience site decal affixed to the user’s vehicle, with the exception of the site located in front of the Sampson County Landfill. Disposing of white goods or electronic waste remains free of charge for the public at designated convenience sites.

November is National Adoption Awareness Month.

Pipe Replacements Temporarily Closing Two Sampson County Roads

From N.C. DOT
Two Sampson County roads will close for a couple of days next week for pipe replacements.
On Nov. 13 and 14, Murphy Road near Boone Road will be closed to traffic. Drivers may use Fredrick, White Oak Church and Boone roads to get around the closure.
Then, between Nov. 15-17, Mingo Church Road near North Spring Branch Road will be closed. Drivers may use North Spring Branch and Aman Dairy roads as a detour.
Maintenance crews will replace the drainage pipes in both locations to improve water flow in the area.
Drivers should be alert to crews working and plan ahead as their commute time may take longer.

Grant Funding Renovates Garland EMS Facility

Sampson County, NC – Sampson County is pleased to announce a significant milestone in the enhancement of Emergency Medical Services in the Garland EMS Facility. Thanks to a State Capital Infrastructure Fund (SCIF) Grant, Sampson County Public Works has renovated the Garland EMS facility to better serve the needs of our community's Emergency Medical Services.

The Ivanhoe Water System is a project to design and construct a new public water system for the Ivanhoe population and surrounding areas of Sampson County. The project will create a water distribution system to connect the residents within the disadvantaged, underserved community of Ivanhoe (who have expressed the desire to connect to a public water system) to Sampson County's water supply. Sampson County Tax Administration mailed the 2023 property tax bills to property owners on Friday, July 28th. If the taxpayer pays the bill by close of business on Thursday August 31, 2023, the bill is discounted 2%. Read More...

2023 Urgent Home Repair Program

On August 15th, Sampson County Department of Aging will begin taking applications for the 2023 Urgent Home Repair Program.
This is a program that can provide home repairs for situations that are an imminent threat to homeowners and their families. It requires eligibility determination and funding is limited.
Applications must be completed no later than 5:00 PM on September 14th, 2023. Please contact Angela Faircloth at 910-592-4653 to apply.

County Animal Shelter Announces Renovation Plans and Service Modifications

Sampson County Animal Shelter is scheduled to start a renovation to replace its HVAC system. Starting July 3rd, the animal shelter will be strictly on emergency calls for dogs until further notice.
